This time a widower is visited by the “spirit” of his wife who has watched him from afar while he slowly lost the joy from his life. I was never a fan of ghosts, or the super natural. However, in this story it is most enjoyable. Lexie, and her son Brock move into a new neighborhood. Their lives are forever changed by a Scrooge like neighbor. Stanley is an unforgettable character. I would like to see an after Christmas book with these same characters. My mom and I, for years, had a tradition where I would pick out a Christmas book, read it, then send it to her to read. We would then discuss it and usually share how much we loved it. The last 5 or 6 years our Christmas books have been Sheila Roberts books and we loved them all. I preordered a little Christ Spirit in July, so excited that Sheila had come out with other Christmas book to keep our tradition going. Well, the universe had other plans and I lost my mom in August. I didn’t know if I even wanted to read the book knowing I couldn’t send it my mom, but a small little voice (spirit) kept telling me Read It!! I am so glad I did. The book was awesome, and it helped me remember that even though my mom is gone she would want me to keep our traditions going. Thank you, Sheila!!! It was cute and scary,well done! : There was a lot of sadness in this story, lots to overcome. But there was humor, and joy in the new lives! I know how the loss of a loved one can wreck a life.
